Miami Placement is a business name of Recarey, LLC, a Florida company. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, who sees it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

It covers this website and everything else Miami Placement runs: our forms, texts, phone calls and email, the sign-up and member pages for ALFs, the reports and invoices we send ALFs, and any new service we add later. When we add one, it follows this page.

What we collect

From families and the people helping them. Your name, phone and email, and who you are to the person who needs care. About that person: their name, age, where they live now, the care they need as you describe it, health details you choose to share, how they plan to pay, their budget, whether they have or applied for Medicaid, where they want to live, and who makes decisions for them. If a guardian, health care surrogate or agent is involved, we may ask for the court or legal papers that show it.

From professionals. Your name, work, phone and email, and what you tell us about a client's or patient's needs. We ask professionals to send needs without a name until the family says yes.

From ALFs. The license, owners, administrator and staff contacts, rooms, prices, open beds, photos, services, billing contacts, signatures on our agreement, move-in reports, and notes from our calls and messages with you.

From public records. State license and inspection records from AHCA, which we use to list and grade every licensed ALF in Florida.

When you visit the site. What we describe on our page What we do, and what we don't: a standard server record kept 14 days, short codes on some links we send professionals and ALFs, and a sign-in cookie when an ALF or our staff signs in. We don't use advertising trackers or screen recording.

Payments. ALFs pay us through payment and accounting companies. We see what was paid and when. We don't keep full card or bank account numbers.

How we use it

To help a family find a place: matching them with ALFs that fit, setting up visits, following up by text, call or email, and answering questions.

To run our agreements with ALFs: introductions, move-in reports, invoices, payments, refunds, and records of who we introduced, to whom, and when.

To keep listings and grades accurate, to protect the site and the people who use it, to stop fraud, and to meet the law.

To learn which pages and messages help people, so we can make them better.

We use what you give us only for these reasons, or for a reason we tell you about when you give it to us.

Who sees it

ALFs, only after the family says yes. Before that, an ALF may see the person's needs, payment, budget and area, with no name. After the family agrees, the ALFs they agree to get the name and contact details. Our agreement requires each ALF to use it only for that admission, protect it, and delete it within 30 days if the person doesn't move in.

Another placement agency, only when none of our member ALFs fits and only if the family agrees.

The person's guardian or legal representative, and the family members the family tells us to include.

Companies that do work for us: our server host, texting, email, maps, payments, accounting, and writing and translation help. Each gets only what it needs for its job. Information about a person's health stays on our own server and with services that have agreed in writing to protect it.

When the law requires it, such as a court order or a state agency request, or to protect someone's safety, or to collect a fee owed under a signed agreement.

If the business changes hands, the records go with it, and this page still applies to them.

We never sell personal information, and we never give family information to anyone for their own marketing.

Names in texts and email

Texts and emails we send about a family don't carry the person's name. They carry a link, or a short description of needs with no name. The name shows only after the link is opened, to people who are allowed to see it.

When we use a computer writing or translation tool to help draft a message, we remove names and health details first, and we only use tools set not to keep what we send.

Text messages

If you give us your mobile number, we may text you about your request, your listing or your agreement with us. How often depends on what's happening. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is never required to get help from us. We don't share mobile numbers or text consent with anyone for their marketing.

How long we keep it

The server record of site visits: 14 days. Link codes and page views from links we send: one year.

Records of families, introductions, move-ins, invoices and payments: as long as a fee, refund or question under an agreement could depend on them, and as long as the law requires. Then we delete them.

If you ask us to delete something, we do, unless the law or a record of an introduction or payment requires us to keep it. If we keep it, we tell you why.

How we protect it

The site uses encrypted connections. Records live on our own server, hosted under a written agreement that requires the host to protect health information. Only people who need records for their work can see them, and they sign in to do it. If information we hold is seen or released without permission, we tell the people affected as Florida law requires.

Your choices

You can ask to see what we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can take back your permission to share a family's information at any time. That stops new sharing, and ALFs that already have it must still follow our agreement. You can stop texts by replying STOP and stop email by answering any email from us and asking us to stop.

To ask, email hello@miamiplacement.com or call us. We may need to confirm who you are first.

Health information and HIPAA

Miami Placement is not a doctor, hospital or health plan. When a hospital, hospice or health plan sends us information, it does so under its own rules. If we ever sign an agreement that puts HIPAA duties on us for some information, we follow it for that information.

Children

This site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 about themselves.

Other websites

Our pages link to other sites, such as FloridaHealthFinder.gov and Google Maps. Their privacy rules apply there, not ours.

If this page changes

We put the date of the last change at the top. If we want to use family information in a new way that isn't covered here, we update this page first, and we ask the family before we use theirs that way. For other big changes, we tell ALFs and professionals who work with us.
