Help for ALF owners and staff
Everything an owner, administrator or admissions person needs to run your home's page on Miami Placement.
1. Sign up your home
- Go to Sign up your ALF. Find your home by name, AHCA license number, address or administrator. We fill in the rest from AHCA's records.
- There are nine short steps. Your answers save as you type. A step counts as done when you tap Save and continue.
- Write in English or Spanish, whichever is easier. We translate what you write automatically, so your page reads in both languages. Once you're signed in, you can fix the translation of your story on your page.
- Three steps are optional: the walk through your home, your story and activities, and other people at your home. You can add them later.
- Need to stop? Come back on any phone or computer, tap Continue my sign-up, and we text a code to the cell you used. If you stop for a while, we text you a reminder after 3 days and once more after 10.
2. Confirm it's your home
- We confirm every home with the phone number AHCA has on file for it. That keeps anyone else from listing your home.
- If that number is a cell, we text it a code, and whoever has that phone reads it to you.
- If it's a landline, upload a photo of your AHCA license, and we call that number before your page goes live, so someone needs to answer.
- You can choose to do it later. Your page doesn't go live until it's done.
3. Sign the agreement
- The last step is the referral agreement. It takes about two minutes, and we text a code to your cell to sign.
- Your page goes live once it's signed and your home is confirmed. A copy of the signed agreement comes to you.
4. Sign in later
- Go to Sign in to edit your home and type the cell phone you registered with. We text you a 6-digit code. There's no password.
- Your home is listed but your cell isn't on file? On the same page, use the phone AHCA has for your home. We text a code there and add your cell as an owner. If it's a landline, call us and we confirm by calling that number.
5. Keep your page current
- Once you're signed in, tap Edit rooms, beds, prices, photos and details next to your home.
- After you sign, a change to your home's name or license number comes to us to confirm first. Everything else saves right away.
- A section of your page shows only when it has something in it, so your page never shows empty boxes.
6. Answer the bed check texts
- If you said yes to bed texts, we text you between 8 AM and 8 PM, in your language, asking how many beds are open.
- Reply with a number, like 2, or 0 if you're full. If you have more than one kind of room, the text lists them, and you reply with the numbers in that order.
- Reply STOP anytime to stop the texts. You can also update your beds on your page instead.
- Save (305) 526-4205 in your contacts as Miami Placement so you know it's us.
7. When a family may fit your home
- We text you the area, age, care needs and budget, with a link to the needs card. There are no names in that text.
- Open the link to see the needs and confirm your open bed. Names go to a home only after the family or guardian picks it and agrees.
8. Add your team
- Add an administrator, admissions director or someone in sales under Your team. We text each one a link to say yes for themselves.
- For each person you choose two things: whether they get the texts about beds and families, and whether they can sign in with their own cell to change photos, the description and open beds.
- Prices, the license and the team stay with the owner.
9. Your grade and the fee
- Your letter grade comes from your public AHCA inspection record by one published rule. See How we grade homes, including how a home moves up and what to do if you think it's wrong.
- There's no sign-up fee and no monthly fee. A referral fee applies only when a private pay family we introduced moves in, as your signed agreement sets out. There's never a fee on a Medicaid resident.
