Help for families
How to look for a place on your own, and how to ask us for help. Our help is at no cost to your family.
1. Search near the right place
- Go to Find a place and type a city or ZIP code: where your loved one lives now, or where the family lives. Homes show closest first.
- We use a ZIP only to show about how far each home is. Your ZIP isn't saved.
2. Narrow it down
- Tap More filters to choose the kind of place, area, size, private or shared room, languages staff speak, how it will be paid and the monthly amount.
- Turn on Only places with a bed open now to see homes that told us they have a bed.
- If nothing matches, the page shows which filters to remove.
3. Read a home's grade
- Each home's letter grade comes from its public AHCA inspection record by one published rule. It isn't a rating of care, and it never changes the order homes are listed in. A home with a C can still be the right fit.
- See How we grade homes for the whole rule.
4. Beds and prices
- Open beds and prices are what each home last told us, with the date. A home confirms the bed and the price before you visit.
- Some homes say call for price. Questions families ask explains why.
5. Ask us for help
- Use Get help to tell us what you need. Someone from Miami Placement will reach out by phone, text or email.
- If the need is urgent, like after a hospital stay, say so on the form.
6. Keep it on your phone
- Use it like an app: at the bottom of any page, follow the steps to add Miami Placement to your phone's home screen.
